Mull's writing has improved greatly since the release of the first book in this five part series.  This book, in particular, is very well done.  The series has matured as it's audience has matured.

This is a great series for reluctant readers, especially boys.  There is a lot of action and witty humor.  The illustrations are wonderful.  I began reading this series because I was so drawn to the colorful illustrations of the fairies on the cover.
