Do you reread?

Last night I listened to The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian audiobook for the third time.  I reread the book once a year as well.  I have found that there are several books I reread every year.  I cannot imagine ever selling those special books.  I do not lend them to friends.  I do not let my mother read them.  Don't get me wrong - I recommend the work, but I do not loan out my copy.

So, in honor of Arnold Spirit Junior, the protagonist in The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, I have created a list of books that give me joy.

12 Books That Give Me Joy:
  1. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
  2. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
  3. Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier
  4. The Road by Cormac McCarthy
  5. A Parchment of Leaves by Silas House
  6. The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti
  7. The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling
  8. The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
  9. Chasing Redbird by Sharon Creech
  10. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
  11. The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie
  12. The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper

  1. I definitely reread (or relisten to) the Harry Potter books at least once a year. I do reread though. There are some books out there that I just really love and get a hankering to be immersed in those stories again every now and then.
